Welcome to my new IP page featuring astro photos from the Misty Mountain website in three glorious chromes RGB mono-chrome and negative, in order to suck out every joule of light and every quark and electron (maybe even a couple bosons...) of nebulosity(to Richard + Alison I know I only need 1 online image and 1 nebula but a little extra can't hurt ; ) )
PS its not done yet so not all pics have three chromes
With a googolplexian possibilities repetition is required.
Helix
Luminance, 40 min, 5-min subs
Red, 15 min, 5-min subs
Green, 15 min, 5-min subs
Blue, 15 min, 5-min subs
75 min with RGBL taken on 7/11/05 with Ritchey-Chretien 32" Telescope SBIG STL-11000 CCD camera
The helix, this was a complicated one.... I loaded the RGB in to Salsa but when I tried to stack to color Salsa ran out of space. I looked all over google trying to find how too increase Salsa's memory only to give up on the stupid program (on the inside I love Salsa). I found a new program, ImageJ, and loaded the pictures (fit) into it. Nothing except stars showed up. I loaded it in to Salsa again and saved everything as a jpg. I went back to ImageJ with the jpgs and was able to stack to color with it. I went back to Salsa for brightness and contrast and then too GIMP to add L. I then adjusted brightness and contrast one more time. I then loaded the grey RGBL (jpgs GIMP had the same problem as ImageJ) into GIMP and stacked them. I adjusted brightness and contrast (I do that a lot...) and finally converted to the inverse.
Sag Star Cloud
Luminance, 65 min, 5-min subs
Red, 15 min, 5-min subs
Green, 15 min, 5-min subs
Blue, 15 min, 5-min subs
80 min tot with RGBL and it was taken on 5/27/06 with Takahashi FSQ 106N SBIG STL-11000 CCD camera
Stacked in Image J using color merge. Adjusted brightness and contrast with GIMP and added pepper. Uploaded a color picture to GIMP and desaturated it to get the greyscale. Inverted the greyscale to get the negative picture.
Uploaded the RGBL too Salsa J and converted to jpeg. I uploaded the jpegs to Image J and merged layers. Moved RGBL to GIMP adjusted brightness and contrast. Save and finished color. Uploaded RGBL in greyscale and stacked them. Saved as grey. Tried to invert but nothing showed up.
Dumbell
Luminance, 30 min, 5-min sub
Red, 15 min, 5-min subs
Green, 15 min, 5-min subs
Blue, 15 min, 5-min subs
85 min with RGBL. Taken on 7/1/05 Ritchey-Chretien 32" Telescope SBIG STL-11000 CCD camera
Stacked M27 with Salsa J to get color. I had to make them 8 bit to stack with Salsa. Adjusted brightness and contrast. Stacked greyscale with GIMP. Moved to Salsa and adjusted brightness and conrast and moved back to GIMP and inverted.
